Garden of Reprieve

Spaces of calm. (2020 -2022)

Sleepwalking through Naarm/Melbourne’s dreamlike public gardens.

During Naarm/Melbourne’s long Covid lockdowns many took solace in the city’s public gardens. These photographs were taken mainly on evenings before the nightly curfew in favourite spaces of contemplation and calm. Classical, painterly and dreamlike, the images are an expression of feeling as if sleepwalking at that time. Together they acted to remind me of hope for a time that would follow.
